I just wanted to personally thank everyone involved
in our first run at the legendary Baja 1000 this year. Our family, friends,
and sponsors really came through for us to overcome the obstacles involved
with taking on the Mount Everest of off road racing.
Through some great driving our team managed to maintain
a close second place through out the first half of the race. We had overcome
silt, sand, and rocks for the first 100 miles with no problems. Our first
obstacle was the front shock seals blew, rendering them useless. Thanks
to RPM Off-road from Tennessee, we were set straight with a new pair
of shocks, and a fast, flawless pit. With new shocks installed, we set
a fast pace to our Canadian pit at mile 550. A broken stub axle was changed
in record time by our Canadian crew members to get the truck moving again.
We handed the truck over to our team members, who did an amazing job
keeping up a lightning pace. Unfortunately our turbocharger failed at
mile 660 which ended up putting us out of the race. A tough pill to swallow.
We have looked the devil in the face, are going another
round! We have some new faces in 2007 to take on the 1400 mile course.
The 40th Anniversary of the Baja 1000 will prove to be the toughest course
on record. I guess we’ll see? Stay tuned.
